Accounts
Every person using the NMR facility has to have a separate NMR user account. New LOC members should ask their lab's protected page NMR superuser to apply for one. Prospective users from other institutes or from outside ETH should write an email to:
All new users have to ask their superusers or the NMR service for a training session. Only after successful completion of the training, they will be allowed to use the facility. In case of trouble, immediately contact the NMR service or your NMR superuser.
Passwords
Reservation System for Hands-on Machines
After registration your login name and initial password are active immediately.
When you try to book time for the first time you will be asked to change your initial password. After this, you have to login again and reserve NMR time with your new password.
All Open-Access spectrometers
Your account on these machines will be active the day after registration (user data is updated overnight). Change your initial password immediately (has to be done on each machine separately).
Varian:
- Login with your user name and initial password
- Click on Tools -> Change Password. This opens a dialog. Because of a software bug, you have to click OK first and wait for an error message to appear. Then, fill in login name and intial password and enter the new password twice.
Bruker:
- Options->Change Additional Users Password.
Important:
Change your initial password! Otherwise, anybody can measure under your name and you will be responsible for misuse.
We would also like to point your attention to the IT-rules of ETH (Benutzungsordnung für Telematik an der ETH Zürich (BOT): it is forbidden to pass your private passwords to someone else.
